◆Variété citée en 1908 dans le catalogue "Darch & Hunter Seed Co." à London Ontario Canada avec le texte suivant : A prominent and extensive gardener, who has made a specialty of tomatoes, found in his extensive experience all extra early tomatoes poor croppers and rough shape, and commenced five years ago the crossing of the then earliest known with a medium early smooth variety with the result that by careful selection of seed stock from year to year his labors have been rewarded, by being able to offer to the public through us a variety which for earliness, smoothness, heavy cropping and excellent quality is worthy the name of "Canada's Pride" being originated in Canada, bred by Canadian and introduced by Canadians. It is a beautiful scarlet color just such as the canners have been looking for, vert thick meated, very small seed cavity, of the most excellent quality and an unsurpassed yielder for such an early variety. The vines are strong and robust, of hardy constitution, setting the blossoms and fruit early and holding its size well into the season, bearing an abundance of very smooth fruits, which have commanded the highest price. For the Market Gardeners, canners or private planters this variety is par excellence.
