This strong claim is made by our brother seeds- man, Henry Field, the introducer of this new variety, and the best thing of this strong statement is he backs it up with tests made in the- different states by disinterested people.
This new Tomato originated with the Rev. W. H. Rust, who lives in Northern Missouri. For •several years he has been trying to get a Tomato that would be earlier and better than any- thing else in the list. The Early June Tomato is the result of his 20 years' patient experimenting.
Here is Rev. Rust's brief description of this variety: "I believe it to be the earliest of all. Not only is it early, but large. In color it is crimson red and very attractive. It is almost seedless, the flesh thick and firm, and the flavor delicious. I have marketed it here for four years past and have never had a complaint on quality, and have received an average price of 5 Y2 cts. per pound for the whole season.
